Bilbao Weather
Bilbao is blessed with a temperate, maritime climate, which means relatively mild temperatures throughout the year and just enough rain to keep things green and lush. During the peak summer months, daytime temperatures hover around a pleasant 21°C and in mid-winter they drop to around 8°C. Average rainfall is somewhat high, but it’s spread fairly evenly over the course of the year, with most of the precipitation falling during spring and autumn. Winter also sees a fair amount of rain, which occasionally turns into light snow.
Ideal months to visit
The best times to enjoy good weather and fewer crowds are the shoulder seasons. May through June and September through October are ideal months to visit. August is the time to avoid, unless you enjoy lots of tourists.
