Scottsdale Weather

The Valley of the Sun sees an average of 300 sunny days each year and very little rainfall, especially from April until June. Occasional thunderstorms happen throughout the year, but they are particularly potent during the monsoon season from July to September. These powerful and impressive storms bring strong winds, hail and spectacular lightning displays.

Hot summers

An average of 89 days per year sees the daytime temperatures exceed 38°C, mainly between June and September. Luckily, the dry Arizona air makes the heat fairly tolerable, especially during the winter months when it feels pleasantly warm. During these summer months, the city is quiet and still, as tourist numbers dwindle and the heat keeps most residents indoors.

Warm winters

It is the clear, warm winter months that draw most of Scottsdale’s visitors. With temperatures hovering around 23°C, the mood is vibrant and busy with many people escaping freezing temperatures further north. November through to April are extremely pleasant, with warm days and refreshingly cool nights.
