Savannah Weather

Savannah experiences generally warm temperatures throughout the year, rarely dropping below the 60s, even in the dead of winter. The mild climate of the southeastern United States is one of the biggest draws of the region, as people can enjoy the outdoors virtually all year round. However, summers are often very hot and the humidity levels can make things quite uncomfortable. Despite this, many of the folk, craft, music and art festivals are scheduled during the summer, as well as many sporting events. Most of the fun state and local fairs are also held in August and September. To escape the heat, remember that conditions are always cooler and more pleasant along the coast or up in the mountains.

A perfect spring

Without a doubt, springtime is the most pleasant time of the year in this part of the country. From late March to early June, the temperatures hover around that perfect 70s range with refreshing showers and bright blue skies. This is also the blooming season for cherry trees, azaleas, dogwood, camellias and apple blossoms which explode into colour and fragrance from April through May. There are few places more beautiful during this time of year. Autumn is another wonderful season, with equally nice weather and the spectacular foliage that comes with the thousands of old hardwood trees as they change colours.
