Sarasota Weather

Located in the central west coast of Florida, Sarasota sees a mainly subtropical climate with warm temperatures throughout the year and significant volumes of rainfall during the summer months. Like most of Florida, the city experiences an impressive number of days of sunshine per year, making it a popular destination for those coming from cooler climates.

Summers and winters

Temperatures start hotting up in June, marking the beginning of the summer season, and from then until September, daily highs are in the upper 20s (C) and lower 30s (C), with the months of July and August experiencing the most significant heat. Rainfall in these months is also at its greatest, with typical volumes of between 9 and 10 inches.

The winter season begins in December, with temperatures dropping considerably but still remaining very pleasant and rarely dropping below 20C; rainfall is lowest during this period with no more than 2.5 inches per month. The late spring and early autumn months are the best time to take a trip to Sarasota as temperatures are not excessively high and rainfall is moderate.
