Oakland Airport Hotels

Oakland International Airport is located just four miles from the city, so airport hotels are not such a requirement, however there are some options for those who need to be as close as possible to the airport.

Which hotels?

The nearest hotel to the airport is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oakland Airport, which is just half a mile from the airport and centrally located between San Francisco and Silicon Valley, as well as being only a mile form the McAfee Coliseum. The hotel has good facilities with a health and fitness centre, and business services for the business traveller. Rooms are pleasant and comfortable and there is a good buffet breakfast included.

The La Quinta Inn Oakland Hotel is another possibility, just 2 miles from the airport off I-880. The hotel has some comfortable rooms and reasonable facilities with an outdoor pool, complimentary breakfast, business and internet services as well as cable TV. Passes are also available for a nearby fitness centre.

Where to stay

Oakland has a wide range of hotels to suit all budgets and tastes and there are some particularly good ones in the area close to Jack London Square. One good option in this area is the Waterfront Plaza Hotel, which has some spectacular views. Facilities here are excellent with a heated outdoor pool, sauna, fitness centre, and wireless internet access.

Oakland’s Rockridge neighbourhood is one of the most popular, and only a short drive from downtown. It’s an attractive area to stay in, and there are some good accommodation options. The Claremont Resort and Spa is one of the best, an impressive Victorian hotel with superb facilities, although definitely not a budget option.
