Kahului Airport, providing many inter-island flights and connections to major cities on the west coast, is fully equipped with facilities for passengers and those who need special assistance.

What to see

Maui boasts a variety of tourist spots for visitors. A haven for nature lovers, Maui has many parks where you can observe plenty of plants and flowers. These parks are also equipped with facilities for visitors such as swimming areas and playgrounds.

One of the most-visited landmarks in Maui is the Banyan Tree, which is more than 100 years old. This majestic tree, located in Lahaina, is also a favourite natural playground for local boys, who enjoy swinging from one branch to another.

Daytrips

Making a road trip to Hana is very worthwhile and memorable. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours and you can witness many stunning sites along the way. There are many lush green farms with blooming flowers, exquisite vistas of valleys and rivers, and a variety of historic spots, including old churches along the way. The final destinations include the Seven Sacred Pools, where you can swim in various natural ponds that are believed to bring swimmers good luck.

Activities and leisure

A mecca for water sports lovers, Maui, with its many wonderful beaches, is a great place to participate in extreme activities such as bodysurfing, windsurfing, parasailing, bungee jumping and more. Those into snorkelling and swimming can also find many impressive spots around Wailua and Lahaina. There are also parks where you can relax amid an idyllic atmosphere.

Safety issues

Maui is considered quite safe, but tourists still need to take extra care of their belongings when going into crowded areas. It is also very risky to swim on your own. If you are a weak swimmer, try to stay near the lifeguards, who are on duty from morning to evening.

Those who arent used to hot, strong sun should always carry a bottle of water in case of dehydration. Taking out travel insurance for you and your family is highly recommended.
