Getting to Madison

Madisons airport is positioned to the north of the city and offers direct flights to and from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Stevens Point and La Crosse. Additionally, there are several international services from Canadian cities. Madison is linked by railway to Minneapolis/St Paul, Milwaukee and Chicago. Greyhound provides buses which follow routes to Madison and nationwide localities via Milwaukee.

If you want to travel to the city by car, Madison is reachable by the east-west I-94, which starts in Milwaukee and ends near Billings before joining with the I-90, which also follows its way east-west to the south of Madison. Interstate 35 goes from Duluth (Lake Superior), through the city of Madison and south to the border with Mexico.

The city is a 1-hour 30-minute drive from Milwaukee (via I-94), a 2-hour 30-minute drive from Chicago (via I-90) and a 4-hour 30-minute drive from Minneapolis/St Paul (via I-94). By rail

Amtrak offers a railway service to Columbus, Portage and Milwaukee as well as to the city of Chicago. From Chicago, Greyhound buses and Van Galder buses operate services to downtown Madison.
