Kona Weather

In general, the weather in Hawaii is almost always wonderfully pleasant, but there are some months tourists may wish to avoid. The hurricane season begins in June and generally tapers off by November.

Sunny summers

Because of its location, Kona is drier than many parts of the Hawaiian islands and has pleasant weather all year round. Summers are dry and sunny on the coast, but just a little inland on the slopes of Mount Hualalai, the weather can change quite dramatically, with light rains and afternoon mists arriving suddenly. Coastal temperatures generally fluctuate between 25C and 30C.

Magical winters

Winters in the Kona region do not differ much from summers. The temperatures do drop a little during the night, occasionally getting cold, but daytime temperatures do not fluctuate greatly. Visitors can expect blue skies and lots of sunshine in the winter. Average daytime winter temperatures range from 20C to 25C.
