Knoxville Entertainment

There are several delightful and interesting ways to pass an evening at Knoxville. Knoxville is known for its love of arts and culture, and is home to the Appalachian Ballet Company, Bijou Theater, Black Box Theater, City Ballet of Knoxville, Knoxville Opera and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. There are also many lovely restaurants and galleries to browse around. During summer and spring, there are free concerts held in the city.

Eating out

Finding a place to have a meal is never a problem at Knoxville. Restaurants and cafs dot many streets, lanes and roads. Downtown is where most restaurants can be found including those serving cuisine from various parts of the world. Market square is a popular area with tourists, as it has many charming restaurants. Kingston Park and Kingston Drive are also home to several great restaurants.

Local cuisine

The local cuisine is southern in flavour and cooking food on a barbeque is a favourite method of many locals. Meats are marinated in a variety of southern sauces including Cajun sauces.

Theatre and music

Knoxville is known for its blue grass music that is played at numerous restaurants and cafs in Market Square. However, Knoxville also has its own ballet company, symphony orchestra and several theatre houses.

Shopping

There are more than 130 shopping malls and centres in Knoxville, providing of variety of items and different shopping experiences. The main shopping malls are Turkey Creek and West Town Mall. The Old City is also a great place to shop at. Located in downtown Knoxville, the Old City offers lots of unique and charming shops that sell a range of interesting items.
