Hartford Weather

Throughout the seasons, the general characteristics of the weather conditions in Connecticut are: an equable distribution of precipitation, both annually and daily; large ranges of temperature, with significant differences in the same month or season of different years; and substantial diversity of the weather conditions over short time periods.

Storms

Annually, numerous air-mass fronts and storm centres pass over or near Connecticut State. There are three types of air which affect Connecticut: dry, cold air coming in from North Americas sub-arctic climate; moist, warm air streaming up on a long overland voyage from the Atlantics subtropical waters and the Gulf of Mexico; and damp, cool air coming in from the North Atlantic.

Due to the airs flow, Hartford and the rest of Connecticuts weather is mostly influenced by the first two types of air rather than by the third. The third air type is often associated with harsh winter storms.
