Fort Worth Entertainment

Theres plenty to do when the sun goes down in Fort Worth, with numerous restaurants where you can enjoy a great meal and bars to entertain you until the early hours of the morning. There are also a number of musical and theatre productions that are usually hosted at Sundance Square.

Eating out

Sundance Square is one of the favourite places to spend an evening of wining and dining. Here, there are several bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a good steak or ribs as well as international cuisine. The Fort Worth Stockyards is another interesting place to have a meal, as its restaurants are fashioned after old frontier saloons.

Main Street, in downtown Fort Worth, has numerous restaurants and cafs that are bound to meet the taste and budget of almost all visitors to the city. Here you can enjoy Chinese, vegetarian, European and other types of cuisine.

Local cuisine

Forth Worth, like the rest of America, is best-known for ribs and steaks, and there are many restaurants where you can try these favourite American dishes. Frontier cuisine, which typically consists of steak, ribs and BBQ dishes, can be sampled at Fort Worths Stockyards.

Fort Worth is also known for its Tex-Mex food and La Playa Maya is one of the local favourites. Here, there is an excellent menu and good service to be enjoyed. There are also local taco vans that serve a mean taco in some car parks in the southwest of Fort Worth in the evenings.

Theatre and music

Downtowns Sundance Square is the place to visit to enjoy theatre and music. Here, there are several theatres with Broadway performances at the Casa Maana Theater. The Nancy Lee and Perry R Bass Performance Hall is home to Fort Worths own symphony, opera and ballet companies. It is also the venue for the annual Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

The area also has many restaurants with live music, mostly jazz. For some traditional country and western, visit the White Elephant Saloon at Fort Worths Stockyard.

Shopping

If you want to hit as many stores as you can within the same area, then Sundance Square is the place for you. Featuring upmarket outlets, there are several fine shopping malls here. More shopping malls can be found on Main Street. Fort Worths Stockyards is also a great place for shopping, with flea markets, antique stores and some of the best malls in the southwest.
