The airport is located about 16kms (10 miles) from downtown Fort Myers, which is fine for holidaying visitors, but perhaps a little inconvenient for those looking for somewhere for only a night or two while in transit to another destination. For those in the latter category, there are unfortunately no hotels located directly on-site at the airport and the nearest establishment is the Wynstar Inn & Suites, four kilometres (2.5 miles) from the airport. Nearby alternatives include the Best Western Airport Inn and the Hampton Inn Fort Myers, which are situated along I-75 and similarly distanced from the airport.

A variety of other hotels can be found between the airport and the city, which are ideal for overnight stops including the nearby Holiday Inn Select.
