Fort Lauderdale Weather

Fort Lauderdale enjoys a tropical climate which sees an average year-round temperature of approximately 77C. The city gets the best of the Florida weather system and consequently sees visitors throughout the seasons. The ideal times to visit, however, are the spring and autumn seasons when the climate is pleasantly warm and chances of rainfall are diminished.

Summer

The main summer months of July and August are steamy times with temperatures regularly hitting the high 20s (C) and into the low 30s on occasion. Rainfall during this period is also the most significant, with August getting the heaviest downpours. Relative humidity during the summer is high, making things a little uncomfortable although Atlantic breezes can bring some relief from this, as can the short afternoon storms that are common during the season. From a visitor perspective, the summer is an ok but perhaps not ideal time to visit on account of the extreme temperatures and increased likelihood of rain.

Winter

Winters bring cooler but still warm and most agreeable temperatures with average daily highs in the low 20s (C). Rainfall during this season is low and for those visitors looking to escape a cold European winter, this is a great time to take a holiday in Fort Lauderdale, especially if sightseeing or outdoor activities are high on your agenda.
