Cleveland Transport

It is not necessary to have a car to get around downtown Cleveland. It's a very compact city and safe to walk around. Cleveland has a fairly developed public transit system, consisting of four rapid transit lines and over 100 bus routes. These services are operated by the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority.

By train

Rapid transit lines run from 04:00 to 24:00. Tickets on express routes are somewhat more expensive than on normal ones. The red line is a heavy rail system running from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport through downtown to East Cleveland. Both the blue and green lines run from the eastern suburbs to downtown. The Waterfront line runs along the waterfront from Tower City along the east bank of the Flats to the Muni parking lot. All the lines cross underground at Tower City Centre. It is possible to transfer onto buses at many stations. A weekly transit pass is available. Website: www.gcrta.org/.

By bus

Cleveland city operates more than 100 bus routes. Buses serve downtown and the suburbs; some routes operate 24 hours, others only run during rush hour, and the rest run throughout the day.

The E-Line Trolley travels Euclid Avenue, connecting entertainment venues, the Warehouse district at West 9th, the entertainment district at East 4th and the theatres at Playhouse Square. Trolleys arrive every 10 minutes and operate Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 19:00.

Taxis

Taxi service in Cleveland is cheap and efficient. Taxi stands are located in front of Tower City Centre on Public Square and in front of the Marriot Hotel in the Civic and Convention Centre district. Taxis can also be hailed on the street at any time, or can be booked from a dispatching company if none are available. Tourist services

Lolley the Trolley takes visitors on a guided tour that shows you all of the sights and attractions throughout the city while learning about them at the same time. These tours run year-round and are a good way to kick off your visit to the city and acquaint yourself with the surroundings and history, and also have a fun time on this historic-looking trolley car. From the airport

The airport's Ground Transportation Services Office is located at the north end of the Baggage Claim level of the main terminal, across from Baggage Claim belt 1.
RTA's red train line provides regular service between the airport and downtown Cleveland via the Tower City Station. The trip takes less than 30 minutes and trains depart from CLE every 15 minutes for the majority of the day. RTA's station at CLE is located on the lower level of the main terminal.

Courtesy shuttles depart from the lower roadway island, which can be reached from the Baggage Claim level outside doors 2 through 5. Hotel courtesy phones are also available on the Baggage Claim level at the Traveller’s Information Centre boards.

Taxis can be found outside Door 1, Baggage Claim level of the terminal. Shuttle service is available to take all rental car customers from the main terminal to the rental car facility. Shuttles leave from the lower roadway island, which can be accessed by exiting from Door 5 on the Baggage Claim level of the main terminal.
