Getting to Cincinnati

Cincinnati is very well-connected to the rest of the world through its international airport. There are rail and road links throughout the US as well as numerous domestic flights. Cincinnati Airport offers a wide array of facilities as well as daily flights to destinations across the world.

By car

The US is home to an excellent network of roads that connect most states throughout the country. Journeys can be extremely long and arduous however, as roads are long, straight and often boring.
 
Interstate 71 and I-75 are the major north-south routes which pass through the city. They run right through Cincinnati, although they become a single-lane highway in downtown. After passing through Cincinnati, the roads both continue south to Kentucky, before parting again. Interstate 74 begins just north of Cincinnati and heads west into Indiana, while I-275 circles the city and parts of northern Kentucky.

By bus

Buses travel throughout Cincinnati and beyond. Greyhound offers coach services to numerous major destinations across the country, with many services terminating at the 24 hour bus station downtown. Journeys are often long and boring. Bus travel is very reasonably priced and there is an extensive bus network which travels throughout the entire country.

By rail

Cincinnati boasts a stunning train terminal, which is also home to the Museum Centre. Regular trains depart daily from the Union Terminal and provide fast and affordable services to many towns and cities throughout the state.

By air

Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is the principal gateway into the city and it serves both domestic and international airlines. It is just 20kms southwest of downtown Cincinnati and offers excellent ground transportation links, allowing for a hassle-free journey to your hotel.

The airport is an important hub for Delta Airlines and it offers flights to destinations throughout America as well services across the world. Facilities include bureau de change facilities, ATMs, business centres and numerous restaurants. There are also excellent facilities for disabled travellers.

Cincinnati Airport is a three terminal building which offers extensive facilities for passengers including: bureau de change kiosks, banks and ATMs; post offices; restaurants; coffee shops; delis; bars; a number of shops including duty-free outlets; car hire; car parking; numerous information points; first-aid facilities; and a children’s play area.

Disabled passengers will also find extensive facilities including: easy wheelchair access through all three terminals; visual paging equipment; adapted toilets; phones with increased volume for people with hearing difficulties; and dedicated disabled car parking.

If you arrive for business purposes and have meetings to attend, the business centres in all three terminals offer work areas and facilities such as photocopying and faxing, internet access and meeting/conference rooms.

Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport transportation

Driving from the airport to the city centre is very straightforward and should only take approximately 30 minutes. The airport is served by a number of bus services throughout the day.

The JetPort Express Shuttle provides travel from the airport into the centre of Cincinnati every 30 minutes between 06:00 to 22:00. TANK buses offer services between 05:00 and 24:00. Bus stops can be found outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 buildings.

Shared shuttle buses are increasing in popularity and travel directly to many hotels in the city. Taxis are plentiful at the airport and offer an extremely convenient way to reach your destination. Airport taxis can be requested at the taxi desks in all terminals and by using the airport's courtesy taxi telephones.
