Cincinnati Transport

Cincinnati does not have a rail or metro service running through the city, but there are numerous bus routes as well as private taxis and even horse-drawn carriages for romantics.

By bus

The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) manages the public transport system in Cincinnati and northern Kentucky. TANK is a system of buses with complete disability access. Routes are extensive, covering downtown and many surrounding districts. Bus travel is very reliable and cost effective. The city is easy to navigate by bus and most bus drivers are very friendly if you happen to get lost.

Taxis

You are not able to hail a taxi in the street in Cincinnati; however, taxis can be booked through your hotel or can be picked up at the airport. Taxis can also be requested by telephone in advance. They are more expensive than taking the bus, but are a lot more convenient, as they offer a door-to-door service.

Tourist services

Horse-drawn carriage services are available for romantic tourists as well as sleigh rides throughout the winter. These are both very popular with children and adults alike.

From the airport

There are a number of options to get you from the airport to your hotel. Bus services depart regularly throughout the day and you can either take a cheap public bus, which terminates in the city centre, or you can take a more expensive shuttle bus, which will drop you and other passengers at your hotels.

If you prefer to drive yourself, you will find the city centre very well-signposted and about a 30-minute journey away. If however you do not want to drive but you still want a quick door-to-door service, taxis can be found outside terminals 1 and 3.
