Charlotte Leisure

From the excellent parks throughout the county to more than 50 beautiful golf courses, Charlotte's climate is conducive to sports and recreation year-round.
Charlotte can also lay claim to being the NASCAR capital of the United States.

NASCAR

The majority of NASCAR teams and race shops are located close to Charlotte, and almost three quarters of American motor sports employees live within a couple of hours drive of Charlotte. The Lowes Motor Speedway is located in nearby Concord, North Carolina. Charlotte has also been selected as the future home of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, scheduled to open in 2009.

Golf

Charlotte is home to a huge collection of golf courses and clubs, both close to the city centre, on the fringes of Charlotte. With superb facilities, challenging holes, scenic fairways, clubhouses, restaurants and golf equipment for hire as well as several golf courses in the Charlotte area that offer professional instructors, you are sure to find a course to suit you.

Baseball

Baseball has a long, rich history in Charlotte, dating back to 1901, when the Charlotte Hornets were formed. The Triple-A Charlotte Knights, the top minor league partner of the Chicago White Sox, presently call the Charlotte area home (the team's stadium is located in nearby Fort Mill, South Carolina).
