Transportation to Branson
The easiest and fastest way to travel to Branson is by air. Branson has its own airport, Springfield/Branson Airport, located in Springfield, Missouri. The airport serves many domestic airlines including American Airlines, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines. Alternatively, you can drive to Branson. The city is easily accessible by two major highways: US highways 65 and 13.
What to see
With plenty of places to visit, Branson is always flocked with tourists. Branson boasts a variety of tourist attractions. One of the most notable is the Table Rock Dam and Lake, where you can view many beautiful natural wonders such as various wild flowers and plants. The Visitor Centre also holds interesting exhibitions about the natural history of the area.
Museum-goers will be very happy to learn that there are several museums of various kinds in Branson. The Hollywood Wax Museum is perfect for everyone in the family, while Ripleys will wow visitors with its many impressive and incredible displays. If you travel with children, it is a great idea to bring them to the Worlds Largest Toy Museum.
Daytrips
Having a car in Branson is worthwhile, as you can make a daytrip out of the city and breathe the fresh country air. Drive to Neosho, an amazingly pretty town which is about 160kms from Bransons centre. Offering an excellent vista, full of colourful flowers and charming plants on rolling hills, Neosho is known as the Flower Box City, to match its idyllic beauty. The city centre of Neosho also boasts many historical spots and several beautiful city parks.
Activities and leisure
There are many things for active tourists to do in Branson. If you are up for adventure and excitement, head to one of the citys fun parks such as the famous Silver Dollar City and Celebration City. Those into water parks should make a trip to the White Water, which provides mind-blowing slides. Theatre-goers will find plenty of Broadway-style shows here.
Safety issues
Even though Branson is considered quite safe, travellers should still take extra care of their belongings. Pick-pocketing is a problem in tourist areas such as fun parks and shopping malls. If you are here during the summer, make sure you put your sunscreen on before you go out. Also, bring along a bottle of water in order to avoid dehydration. Taking out travel insurance for you and your family is highly recommended.
