Atlantic City Entertainment
While fun in Atlantic City is largely equated with gambling, the casinos here also offer a wide variety of entertainment to please their patrons. Each casino has its own concert hall and the schedules cover a range of concerts and stage shows.
Nightlife
Younger visitors may want to visit the Borgata, Atlantic City’s newest addition to its stable of casinos. Located on the marina, the resort has been styled in a modern design and its restaurants and bars attract today’s new gamblers and partiers. The Quarter at the Tropicana has received rave reviews for its collection of restaurants, clubs and lounges, with great food and a mix of DJs. Also in The Quarter, the Comedy Stop is the premier nightspot at which to see live comedy in South Jersey.

Theatre and music
In recent years, music and show promoters have ratcheted up the competition, with the Borgata, Sands and others attracting more prominent concerts to appeal to younger audiences, such as Snoop Doggy Dog and Godsmack, while shows by acts such as Lynard Skynard, Duran Duran, Sting and Heart will appeal to 30-somethings and mainstay oldies acts like Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gorme and comedian Don Rickles are hosted regularly. For more theatrical and acrobatic performances, The Trump Plaza has runs of the Cirque Jungle Fantasy show and David Copperfield performs magic shows several times a year.
Festivals
Atlantic City was deprived of its premier festival-air attraction in 2006, when the Miss America Pageant left its home of 84 years to a new venue in Las Vegas. However, the city still has a few festival attractions in summer and fall:
- The Beach Fest kicks off the summer season in June with food and beer.
- The Atlantic City Film and Music Festival offers screenings of the major upcoming Christmastime releases in August
- The city holds its annual marathon in October.
