Atlanta isone of the youngest cities in the US. Atlanta more than makes up for its lack of history and heritage with its modern buildings, amenities and a scenic natural landscape. Perhaps best known as the birthplace of Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Atlanta is a vibrant commercially-active city that has no shortage of attractions to offer visitors as well as a solid tourist infrastructure and an efficient local transportation system.

Atlanta is a highly accessible city, with most international visitors choosing to arrive via the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport which is undoubtedly the chief gateway into and out of the city. By road, visitors can choose to drive here by rental or private vehicle, making use of several major interstates that serve the city. Alternatively, you can travel from major US cities via the popular Greyhound bus service. Rail services to the city are also available. These areprovided by AMTRAK.

Football and baseball fans will find good opportunities to indulge their passions, while those seeking to play sport or get physically active will find parks and fitness centres at their disposal. Shopping, eating out and socialising are all popular leisure activitiesin Atlanta.
Safety issues
Although the city has managed to shed its previous reputation for high levels of crime, visitors should still observe sensible behaviour with regards to preserving their own safety while out and about in public areas. However, becoming a victim of petty theft can often be avoidedby usinga little common sense.
