Things To Do In Atlanta

Despite the city not attracting as many tourists as other places in America, Atlanta offers a good number of attractions for its visiting guests. The city was the venue for the 1996 Olympic Games and that in itself is enough to draw many visitors.

Six Flags over Georgia

The third of the Six Flags parks is set on a massive 331-acre property and offers some of the best thrill rides, attractions and live entertainment of any theme park in the USA. Anchor attractions include Bugs Bunny World and the Mind Bender rollercoaster as well as the numerous Broadway style shows that play regularly throughout the day in various parts of the park. The arrival of various festivals throughout the year brings new shows and attractions to the park’s already extensive collection.

Museums

Atlanta is a culturally diverse city and its museum scene is very much representative of this. You will find venues displaying information on science, nature and local history. Visitors in search of the latter should visit the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, while for those with children, the Children’s Museum of Atlanta. For local and world history, the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University and the Robert C. Williams American Museum of Papermaking all offer fascinating perspectives on both regular and unusual themes.
