Be Safe in Anaheim

The good news for visitors is that Anaheim is relatively safe and has lower crime rates than its illustrious neighbour, Los Angeles. The city had a successful project a few years ago to make the area surrounding Disneyland Resort welcoming to tourists.

Safety

Disneyland itself has always had good security and the chances of being a victim of crime here are slim. The most common problem for visitors is bag-snatchers and pickpockets, usually found at the tourist sites and on public transport. Be vigilant and take care to safeguard passports and wallets. Don't carry large amounts of cash or your passport with you; leave them in your hotel rooms safety deposit box. Most trips to Anaheim should be problem-free as long as you are sensible and take the necessary precautions.

Health

There are no special vaccinations required for a trip to America and very few other health concerns. Food hygiene standards in restaurants are high and closely monitored. Modern medical facilities are available should you fall ill or have an accident, and the quality of treatment is excellent. Medical costs throughout the country are exceptionally high.

Travel insurance

Buying travel insurance with good quality cover should be a priority, and we strongly recommend you take out comprehensive travel insurance for you and your family. Accidents are far more likely to happen when on holiday, and covering the cost of treatment in America can be very expensive. A good policy will protect you and help you to replace your belongings if they are stolen, and also cover you against cancellations and delays.
