Niagara Weather

With its location in southern Ontario, between two of North Americas Great Lakes, Ontario and Erie, Niagara enjoys a unique climate with a lot of rain, which contributes to some of the best farmlands and its award-winning wine industry.

Winter wonderland

In the winter in Niagara (November to March), the temperatures can reach -6C at night. An average temperature in the daytime is around 4C to 6C. Expect plenty of snow during the winter months, and pack thick clothes to keep you warm. Woollens and boots are the best option if you decide to visit Niagara in winter. From April to October, the weather is still brisk, while Niagara enjoys warmer weather in June, July and August, with temperatures falling between 15C and 25C.

Niagaras location between the lakes and the falls affects local weather conditions. Even in the summer, you can still get wet from the mist while you are enjoying the sun somewhere near the falls. Be prepared to get wet and bring your rain gear and an umbrella with you, or pack some dry clothes, even on the sunniest day.

Niagara welcomes tourists year-round, as it turns into a winter wonderland when the snow arrives and is a hub of summer activities when the sun lights up the region, making a lovely sight wherever you go. You can witness one of the worlds wonders no matter what the weather is like.
