Montreal Weather

Montreal experiences a very varied climate, with opposing seasons bringing with them extreme temperatures at either end of the scale. Weather conditions are invariably predictable, which is advantageous to visitors wishing to plan a trip and also helpful for knowing what kind of clothing to pack.

Summer

Summers are warm and generally wet affairs, with the period from June to September experiencing daily highs of between 19 ºC and 26ºC, and rainfall volumes from 3.0 to 3.5 inches. This is a good time to visit the city, as it’s generally warm enough to go short-sleeved on dry days; however, you should make sure you pack an umbrella, a waterproof jacket and appropriate footwear.

Visitors with a penchant for winter sports will find this time is ideal for visiting Montreal and indeed, the city’s ski resorts are generally packed at the height of the winter season.
