By Metro

Montreal’s metro system is a service with a reputation for being both clean and efficient, and is one of the preferred methods of getting around the city. The system has a network of four lines and 65 stations, providing coverage of a large proportion of the city. Services begin at 06:00 and conclude at 01:00, and are integrated with the city’s bus services.

By bus

Over 150 bus routes are operated by the Société de Transport de Montréal, providing extensive coverage of the city, with services beginning early morning and a reasonable number continuing into the night. It’s possible to buy a book of tickets, which works out cheaper than paying every time you board and has the advantage of giving you the freedom to switch between the bus and the metro system whenever and wherever you choose.

Taxis

Taxis are readily available throughout the city from taxi ranks, the airport and major hotels. Alternatively, taxis can be hailed in the street or booked ahead by telephone.
