It’s important to book hotel accommodation in advance when planning a trip to Jerusalem, as finding accommodation at certain times of the year can be difficult. July and August are especially crowded due to the school holidays, and surcharges are often added to rates at this time of year as well as during the Passover and Sukkoth.

Services are also curtailed at this time, and rooms should be booked at least four months in advance. It’s also common practice for some hotels to require full-board during Passover.
