Accommodation of all types, to suite every taste and budget, is available in Eliat. Visitors are encouraged to pre- book accommodation months before travelling due to the popular demand of accommodation during the peak season. Hotel rates rise significantly during the high season as well.
There are several hotels that hug the beaches on the northern side of Eilat and are close to the town centre and Eilat Airport. Most of the hotels here range between three and five stars. The rates may be a little high, but the hotels are within walking distance to the beaches, shopping areas, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. The more popular hotels include Crowne Plaza, Dan Eilat, Hilton Eilat, Neptune Hotel, Herods Vitalis and many more.
The south side of the town centre has two main clusters of hotels on the road leading to the Egyptian border crossing. One cluster of hotels is located near Coral Beach and the other, a little farther away from the town centre, near the underwater observatory. Favourite hotels in this area include Prima Music Eilat, Ambassador Hotel, Fattal Club Med and numerous other hotels.
Travellers on tight budgets may wish to consider the Eilat Youth Hostel, which has air-conditioned single and family rooms, or the camping grounds near Coral Beach. There are also a number of inexpensive guesthouses scattered around the town centre.
Airport hotels
The airport at Eilat is located just between the city centre and the two hotel districts therefore many travellers just hop into a taxi and make the 5 to 10-minute drive that brings them to the door of their hotel. The Sheraton Moriah Eilat is only a mile from the airport and the Dan Panorama Eilat and the hotels on the northern side of Eilat are about a 10-minute drive.
