Visitors have no need to concern themselves with health issues when visiting Eilat. Some caution needs to be exercised with regards to the political situation in Israel; however, it is possible to have a safe and enjoyable holiday in Eilat.

Although Israel has been plagued by terrorist attacks and the war with the Palestinians, Eilat is a fairly safe city to visit. There is little serious crime in the area except for the usual petty crimes of pick-pocketing and bag-snatching, which are prevalent in all cities. With a little precaution and awareness, visitors are sure to have a trouble-free holiday here.
Health
Visitors to Israel do not require special inoculations, and the health services throughout Israel are compatible to the best in Europe and the United States. Travellers are recommended to bring any medication that they require with them and a prescription if necessary. Only drink beverages that come in sealed containers. It is quite easy to get sunburnt in the summer, and visitors should avoid excessive exposure to the sun.
