Weymouth Leisure

Weymouth is home to plenty of options for outdoor activities of the more exciting as well as gentler kind, with all ages catered for. Water sports are widely available and facilities are first rate. Donkey riding is popular with the younger ones.

Water sports

Weymouth Bay provides a wonderful base for water sports activities. A large diving and fishing fleet is on hand to take you to the areas especially suited for water sports. Weymouth Beach has separate designated approach channels for water-skiing, windsurfing and private watercraft, keeping swimmers and boats apart at a safe distance. Whether it's a sailing or diving course, windsurfing lesson or specialist coaching there are no better waters for getting your feet wet.

Fishing

Weymouth's waters boast some of the most varied and impressive angling along the South Coast. The town is recognised as having the largest professional charter angling fleet operating out of a British harbour. There are also lots of launching areas for those who choose to bring their own boat. Chesil Beach is the most popular spot for shore anglers of all abilities. The Stone Pier, sheltering the western entrance to Weymouth Harbour, is particularly popular with locals and visitors alike hoping to catch a myriad of species during the warm summer months.

Weymouth Beach Donkeys

Weymouths popular donkeys have come back to the beach again after a break of five years. They are once again offering rides and bringing smiles to the faces of the many children who visit the beautiful beach. They can also be hired for special events and occasions. There is no lower age limit for riders. However, the upper age limit is 16 and a weight limit is imposed.
