London Airport Hotels

There are plenty of options for people who want to stay in a hotel close to any of London’s airports, some of which have direct walkways to the terminal buildings.

Which hotel?

At Heathrow Airport the most convenient option is the Hilton hotel, which even has a walkway directly into terminal four. The hotel has good facilities, as you would expect from the hotel chain. There are a number of other hotels within easy reach of Heathrow such as Jury’s Inn, less than a mile from the airport and close to Hatton Cross tube station.

There is also a Hilton hotel at Gatwick, conveniently linked by covered walk way to the South Terminal. The North Terminal is linked to the Sofitel Hotel, but with a free monorail running between terminals it is easy to get from one to the other.

At Stansted, the Radisson is just a few minutes walk from the terminal building and is a good standard hotel with good facilities. The Express by Holiday Inn, is a slightly cheaper option, and is around 5 minutes away via the hotel shuttle bus.

The Express by Holiday Inn also has a hotel conveniently located for Luton Airport, just 400 metres from the terminal building, and this is comfortable and pleasant for a short stay.

London City Airport, located close to the centre of London, is reasonably easily accessible from destinations around the city, but in particular in the East London area, or on the Jubilee line.

Where to stay

London has a huge range of hotels and it shouldn’t be hard to find something to suit your particular tastes, although budget accommodation, especially close to the centre of town, is not so easy to find.

If you’re looking for luxurious high-end hotels than you will be spoilt for choice here; London has some of the most well known hotels in the world, with a great reputation for impeccable service. The Mayfair area has a high density of fine hotels including Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Dorchester, Grosvenor House Hotel, and the London Hilton, among others.

For a good location and some reasonable value, there are some hotels around the King’s Cross and Euston area, such as the Ibis Hotel, which is comfortable and well located for transport links around the capital.

There are hotels to be found across the capital, and if you choose to take advantage of the better value outside the city centre, then be sure to stay in an area with good transport connections, such as an underground station close by.
