Safety
It is very unlikely that visitors will encounter any safety issues while on Jersey. Even in the capital city there shouldnt be any real risk of crime, but nonetheless, dont tempt fate by leaving your valuables unattended. Violent crime is not a problem on Jersey, and it should be fine to walk around anywhere after dark. However, sometimes misfortune occurs, so its suggested that all visitors to Jersey buy some travel insurance to ensure that any mishaps dont ruin your trip.
Health
There are no serious health risks in Jersey which should cause you concern. The quality of the tap water is certainly safe to drink, but its always advisable to stick to bottled water as your stomach will not be used to the difference in microbes. The food in Jerseys restaurants is up to international standards and wont be an issue.
Jerseys cool climate often tricks visitors into thinking the sun isnt affecting their skin. But even on hazy days, it wont take long to get sunburnt, so always wear sunscreen and a hat. Also drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, especially if you take any walks. If anything does happen during your visit, there are medical facilities right in Jersey. All of the staff and doctors speak English and can assist with any problems. All UK citizens are covered by a reciprocal health agreement, but visitors from other countries should check whether they are covered by their medical policy in the UK. If not, its wise to get some travel insurance to cover any unexpected hospital costs. The price of travel insurance is very small compared to a medical bill.
