Halifax Weather

You never know what the weather will be like in Halifax from one day to another. It can be rainy one day and sunny the next. Halifax and the surrounding region have a variable climate which changes from day to day, making it hard to precisely predict the weather.

In general, the summer months are warm and the winter months are cool. The summertime is cooler than on the continent, but wintertime is much milder.

Sunshine and rainfall

During the months of June, July and August (the longest daylight months) the general daily hours of sunshine vary from five to seven hours.

During the short daylight months in November, December and January, sunshine is at a minimum, with an average of an hour per day. Rainfall is well distributed throughout the year. The driest period is from February until March, while the wettest is from October until January.
