Guernsey Transport
As the main attractions are not far apart, its easy to tour the island. Renting a car enables you to see the whole island in one day. If you have more time on your hands, its even better to hire a bike and spend several days touring around the paths, which are perfect for cycling. The bus network is very good, and will take you to within a mile of any part of the island. The only way to get the best views of the coast is to walk along the paths lining the shores.
By bus
Guernseys newly improved bus network is designed to provide a real alternative to private cars. The bus network goes all around the island, starting and finishing in St Peter Port, and will take you to most of the main places of interest. A timetable and map, providing information on services and connections, are available from the Visitor Information Centre. Bus timetables are also posted at the bus stops. A single fare applies to all journeys.
By ferry
Daily services are available to the neighbouring islands of Herm, Jersey and Sark by ferry. The Isle of Sark Shipping Company operates a year-round passenger and freight service between Guernsey and Sark. The journey from Guernsey to Sark by boat takes approximately 45 minutes.
By taxi
Guernsey has a regulated, licensed taxi service, offering two ranks in central St Peter Port, one at St Sampson's (on the bridge) and one at the airport. It is recommended to book taxis when possible, particularly if you intend to travel early in the morning or during the evening when demand is the highest. From the airport
Island Coachways buses number seven and number four operate connections directly to the airport, with both routes running all year round. They connect the airport to most areas of the island. Taxis are also available in front of the arrivals hall. However, it is a good idea to book taxis from the airport in advance and the
