Douglas Weather

Douglas on the Isle of Man enjoys a temperate climate which is lacking in extremes, and it avoids the harsh variations the rest of the British Isles experience due to its location and the warming power of the Gulf Stream which washes around the islands shoreline.

Summer

Summers here are cool with clear skies. The months of April, May and June are generally the driest, while May, June and July see the most sunshine. July and August have the warmest weather, with an average daily high of around 17.4C. Temperatures rarely fall below zero throughout the year.

Winter and rain

Winters here are mild and wet. Rainfall on the island can vary quite a lot depending on the location. The north of the island, along the northern plain, and the south along the southern coast experience the least rainfall. In the hilly interior of the island, especially in the higher points of Snaefell Mountain, rainfall is plentiful. Douglas rarely experiences frost or snow.
