Cardiff Restaurants
Cardiff’s reputation for fine dining in Wales is unsurpassed, with a collection of high quality restaurants and access to fresh local produce. It wasn’t always this way, but recent years have seen an insurgence of quality establishments and talented chefs to work in them. In addition, the city has a large number of world-class international restaurants with a variety of cuisines available.
Local cuisine
Fresh seafood will be on most menus in Cardiff, including cockles, mussels, scallops and shellfish. Lamb is also a big favourite in these parts of the world, Wales’s affinity with sheep is no fallacy. Dozens of Welsh cheeses are also available and best sampled as a slice of delicious Welsh rarebit. Rarebit is a melted cheese with ale or beer concoction, served over toast.
