Bristol Weather

Bristol weather follows the rest of the UK, with its unpredictable nature, where a typical summer’s day may be fraught with wind and rain one minute and be sunny and calm the next. The summer months of May, June, July, August and even September enjoy Bristol’s best weather, where temperatures are at their highest and daylight hours are long.

Spring

However, many people choose to visit Bristol in the springtime during the months of March, April and May, when the flowers and trees are in bloom, making Bristol’s myriad of parks and gardens very attractive. During the spring, the city features several flower festivals and events as well as hot air ballooning.

Winter

The winter months of December to January are the coldest, with temperatures often plummeting to well below zero. Snowfall isn’t as great as in other towns and cities in the UK, though the city feels the effects of the Gulf Stream more than other parts of the UK, as it is located fairly close to the Atlantic Ocean. Although it is the coldest time of the year, winter is also the best time for ballooning in Bristol as morning air currents are calmer, allowing for safer soaring.
