Be Safe in Bournemouth

Bournemouth is by and large a very safe destination for visitors, and when walking along the streets at day or during night-time, you will likely not feel at risk or intimidated. However, as with the majority of destinations, the city comes with its fair share of criminals and undesirable elements, and its recommended that you follow some basic courses of action to make sure that you dont end up a victim to them.

Safety

Be sure to safely lock away all your valuables such as passports, credit cards, tickets and cash in the hotel safe. Its advisable to carry with you only those things you need for the day. Watch out for pickpockets, particularly in tourist areas, on public transport and around markets and similar public places. Be sure not to leave anything on show when parking your car. Visitors carrying handbags should wear them with the strap on the opposite shoulder to the hip it rests on, and those carrying backpacks should wear them slung over both shoulders. If you should fall victim to theft, make sure you make a police report.
