Aberdeen Transport
Once in Aberdeen, most facilities and attractions are within comfortable walking distance, and regular bus services run in and around the city. Two bus companies make areas within the city easily accessible to all.
By bus
First Aberdeen is the main bus company operating within the city and provides 22 services that run all over the city, including Aberdeen Airport. They also operate a park and ride system enabling users to park their cars at various locations, which are located between the Bridge of Don and Kingswells. Users can then take a bus that will take them to and from the city centre enabling them to avoid traffic jams. The buses charge fares depending on which zones you are travelling to, and operate on an exact change principle, so make sure you have the correct money for your fare. Day, week, month and three-month passes are also available. The MegaRider ticket gives seven days unrestricted travel on the citys buses. Taxis
Taxis can be hailed on the street or at ranks at the railway and bus stations. Some of the main taxi companies include: Central Taxis (tel: +44 1224 899 686), Computer Cab (tel: +44 1224 353 535) and Mairs City Taxis (tel: +44 1224 724 040).
From the airport
Aberdeen Airport (ABZ) is connected by a good network of buses running to and from the city centre as well as direct rail links with Aberdeen and Inverness. Four bus services operate between Aberdeen Airport and the city centre, providing regular connections on weekdays and less frequent services at weekends. First Bus number 27 runs from Monday to Friday only, while Stagecoach bus numbers 10, 307 and 737 run throughout the week and on the weekends; number 307 only operates one service to and from the airport on Sunday. Aberdeen and Inverness train services stop at the local station at Dyce which is just a short taxi ride from the airport. Taxis are available in front of the terminal and are operated by Rainbow Airport Taxis.
