Pamplona Weather
Pamplona has a wonderfully diverse sub-Mediterranean climate thanks to its location between the Pyrenees, Cantabrian Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. It is affected by the Atlantics mild and wet weather, the Mediterraneans warm and dry influence and the cold winds of the Pyrenees.
Changing seasons
Although the citys average annual temperature is a cool 13C, the weather changes dramatically from one season to the next. The cold winter season begins in late October and lasts until mid-April, when temperatures range from 1C to 7C. Winter is also the rainy season in the Basque country, when it gets lots of showers. Summers can be really hot, often hitting 35C in July and August.
In general, however, Pamplona enjoys a rather mild climate. The shoulder seasons of spring (May to June) and fall (September to October) are by far the best times to visit this mountain town. The weather is near perfect, with pleasant sunny days and virtually no tourists.
