Palma Leisure

Majorca is a party and leisure island and Palma, its capital, offers plenty of sporting options for those who like to be active.

Water sports nearby

Although Palma has a city beach it’s not that great for bathing and water sports, therefore visitors should head farther around the bay to the southwest towards the beaches of Cala Mayor, Sant Augusti, Illetes and Puerto Portal. All types of water sports are on offer at these beaches including windsurfing and jet-skiing, although you should head even farther around the bay to the likes of Palma Nova and Magaluf (southwest) or Playa de Palma/Arenal (southeast) for more options.

Golf

Perhaps the favourite pastime for visitors to Majorca is golf. The courses here are top quality and are reasonably priced, not to mention the sublime in-season and out of season weather. Son Vida Club de Golf is Majorca’s best course and is located just east of the city along the Andrade Highway. There are also several other courses located nearby.

Biking

With the many biking lanes and hilly terrain, visitors may  opt to hire a bicycle at some time during their stay in Palma. Most major roads have bike lanes around the city and there is the delightful promenade on the harbourfront. Bikes can be rented hourly or daily, for favourable rates, at many places in Palma .
