Palma is loaded with hotels in the city centre and suburbs, although visitors will have to book way in advance during July and August as well as the shoulder season months of May, June, September and October. The main hotel areas in the city include: the Old Town, with its many elegant boutique-style establishments; Paseo Maritimo and Paseo Majorca in the town centre; and El Terreno, which has cheaper accommodation than the other areas, but is fairly noisy and some parts could be categorised as sleazy.

Where to stay

Palma actually stretches as far as Cala Mayor and Illetas to the southwest and El Arenal to the southeast, and there are numerous quality hotels in between. Hotels tend to be quieter outside of Palma and prices are often more reasonable, apart from Illetas, which is mostly upmarket.
