Palma Transport
Palma is a fairly compact city and most of the attractions and shops are within easy walking or riding distance of one another. Bicycle hire places are plentiful if you fancy cycling, while buses provide faster access to destinations throughout the city. Tourists can also make use of an open-top, hop-on, hop-off tourist service, or if you simply need to get from A to B quickly, taxis are reasonably priced and metered. There are two train lines that run from Palma to other areas of the island but these are of no real benefit to those who need to travel around Palma. Drivers should be aware of the one-way systems and traffic and parking problems in the city.
By train
Visitors can get to a limited number of destinations on Majorca by train, although destinations within Palma are not served by rail. Two train lines radiate out from Palma from Plaça de Espanya, one which goes to Inca in the centre of the island and the other to Sóller on the northwest coast.

By bus
The only real way to get around Palma by shared public transport is by bus. Empresa Municipal de Transports Urbans de Palma de Mallorca (EMT) operate several services around Palma and out to the airport and beaches. Services are frequent with timetables and fares available from Palma de Mallorca bus station on Carrer Eusebio Estada.
Taxis
Taxis are reasonably priced and provide fast transport to city addresses and destinations across Majorca. Taxi and limousine services run 24 hours and prices are charged per kilometre.
Tourist services
The Palma City Sightseeing bus number 50 offers the best way to see all of Palma’s sights in a day. The buses are hop-on, hop-off type vehicles with open-tops and tickets are valid for the day. An audio tour comes as part of the package and attractions covered include: Pueblo Español, Castell de Bellver, the ferry port and the major shopping centres.
From the airport
Millions of people use Palma Airport every year and public transport services to Palma and around are commendable, with regular buses, hotel services and taxis. If you aren’t booked on a package tour and you don’t have free airport transfers provided by your hotel, there are three bus services that run to and from Palma and the airport as well as 24-hour taxi services. Bus numbers 1, 17 and 25 leave from outside Arrivals and take about 30 minutes to reach the city; bus number 25 is a non-stop service. Taxis take about 15 minutes to get to Palma and are the best bet if you are travelling as a family and are looking for a comfortable ride, while drivers need to take the PM19 motorway and Paseo Maritimo to get to Palma.
