Palma Restaurants

Like its nightlife, Palma also has a good choice of eateries, from the ubiquitous tapas bars and traditional Majorcan restaurants to a collection of seafood restaurants at the harbour.   You can also find quality international restaurants at many optimum locations. For traditional Majorcan fare, try some lomo (pork loin), where the pork is enclosed in cabbage leaves and served with a delicious sauce consisting of grapes, tomatoes, pine nuts and bay leaves.

Local cuisine

There are several other specialities available in Palma’s restaurants including sabrosada (pork and red pepper sausage). Tapas are a staple diet for most Majorcans and Palma has some of the best tapas joints in the whole of Spain. The Sa Llotja area has the best tapas bars in Palma, where every type of recipe is on offer from fish-filled to delicious Galician tapas. Castilian stews can be had in the many Catalan restaurants in town, while vegetarians also have a good choice here.

Not only does Sa Llotja have an abundance of bars and nightclubs, it also delivers in the food department. Apart from its snazzy cocktail bars and tapas joints, there are also many international restaurants here, mainly featuring Italian and Indian fare. Try the other busy thoroughfare, Paseo Marítimo, for sandwiches, cakes and chocolates, and Paseo Majorca for an equally good selection of treats.
