Menorca Transport

Options for getting around the island are limited and visitors can choose either the public bus services or taxis. Both are reasonable options, but many visitors opt to hire a car during their stay and find the convenience and comfort outweighs the difference in cost against the alternatives.

By bus

Single-decker buses run between Mahon and Ciutadella and are easy to spot on account of their bright red colour.  The buses also run to most of the other significant destinations on the island and fares are relatively cheap.   Passengers can either pay the driver on boarding the vehicle or purchase prepaid tickets/travel cards.

Gatwick Parking

Taxis

Taxis are available across the island and operate on a metered fare basis, with additional charges levied for extra luggage or passengers, late night journeys or airport trips. Ask at the reception of your hotel if you want to be sure of getting a reliable service.

From the airport

Visitors whose hotels do not provide a free shuttle service can choose between buses and taxis for transferring from the airport to their accommodation. Buses run twice hourly to the capital, while taxis are available 24 hours from outside the terminal.
