Transport networks within Marbella are good, making to easy for visitors to get around. While many areas can be covered on foot, visitors can also choose to travel by taxi, bus or train, with most services being reliable and efficient.
By train

By bus
The municipal bus service provides links between key destinations within the Marbella area and to neighbouring towns. The town has its own bus station, which is a large facility located on the Marbella ring road. From the bus station, services are available to other Costa del Sol resorts as well as to a large number of Andalucian cities.
Taxis
Taxis can be hired across the city and operate on a metered fare system, with many adding extra charges for airport trips, night journeys or for carrying extra baggage or passengers. Drivers have modern cab vehicles and many can speak basic English. Most reputable hotels will have arrangements with local taxi firms, so you should enquire at reception if you need to book one for a specific time.
Tourist services
A tourist train gives visitors the chance to take in some of the sights of the area. Beginning at El Faro street, the service travels around the city, taking about 20 minutes to complete a single circuit. Rides are cheap and children under five ride for free, making the service ideal for use by families with young children.
From the airport
Buses are the only public service providing a direct connection between the airport and Marbella, while trains run as far as Fuengirola. Taxis are a convenient option, while many visitors will find their hotels provide free shuttle transportation. A hire car is a good way of not only getting from the airport to your accommodation, but also getting around during your holiday.
