Mallorca Leisure
Visitors looking for spectator sports on the island have a small number of options to choose from, with the highly controversial bullfighting perhaps the island’s most popular outdoor spectacle. While many foreigners abhor the ‘sport’, there are others who go to watch it out of curiosity or genuine interest. Regardless of your opinions, though, there’s no escaping the fact that it is a historically significant aspect of Spanish culture.
Games
For something a little less bloody however, you can check out the football games with local stars Real Mallorca FC playing matches at Son Moix, a stadium that has a seating capacity for 26,500 spectators. During the September to March season, games are played on alternate Sunday afternoons. Meanwhile, cricket fans can catch a few overs at the Magaluf Cricket Club, where a team comprised entirely of British expats play matches against both local and visiting teams.

Golf, sailing and outdoors
If you are looking to take part in some sporting activities, as opposed to merely spectating, then the island offers a number of options. Golf fans will find a total of 15 courses at their disposal, situated between Palma and Andraxt in the region of Arta on the Levante coast. Some of the best courses available include Bendinat, Son Vida, Pula and Santa Ponsa. Meanwhile, boat fans will find sailing schools in both Palma and Pollença, while for a spot of scuba diving, you can take a trip out to Cabrera Island, where conditions are perfect and marine life abundant. Cycling enthusiasts can also take advantage of organised mountain biking trips which cover distances of 20kms to 40kms and covering a variety of terrain.
