Malaga Weather

With its position on the south coast of Spain, Malaga enjoys a warm, year-round Mediterranean climate and boasts the most days of sunshine in Spain. Summers are dry and hot, with temperatures regularly in the 30°Cs and the fairly low humidity makes the high temperatures bearable. The nearby mountains often draw in different weather systems, where summer nights can be slightly chilly, so it is also worth packing a sweater along with your summer wear.

If you are here in spring (May to June) or autumn (September to November), the weather is more unpredictable, with a greater chance of showers and fluctuating daily temperature highs from one day to the next. Visitors should bring along more in the way of warm clothing if visiting Malaga during the wintertime, where temperatures may slip to as low as 13°C at night. Malaga’s winters are particularly mild however and, as with the resorts in the Algarve in southern Portugal, Malaga is a favourite winter destination for many.
