La Gomera Weather

A charming, unspoilt island near Tenerife in the Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of North Africa, La Gomera is the second smallest of the Canary Islands, blessed with a pleasant climate year-round. Because of its ideal climate, La Gomera boasts a variety of trees including palm and banana trees that grow in abundance.

Warm weather year-round

Although its very close to the equator, the island still remains exquisite with lush green landscapes featuring a mild and warm year-round climate, with average temperatures of around 20 C to 25C. La Gomera has two main climates: one in the north and one in the south. The northern region is more populated because of the perfect mix of sunshine and cloud as well as the stable trade winds, while it is hotter and more humid in the southern part.

The nicest time to come here is between late autumn and spring, when you can soak up the sun on the beaches. However, it can get quite chilly in the mountains and rain is possible in the winter months. Summer starts around May, when tourists start flocking to the beaches.
