Bilbao Airport Hotels

While there are no hotels directly connected to the airport, Bilbao and its surrounding towns have plenty of choices. The city has a wide range of choices, from five-star mansions to budget pensions in the Old Quarter. Some prefer the old style of the Carlton, which was one of the original hotels in the city, but most visitors today seem to prefer the glass and steel structures overlooking the Abandoibarra and the Nervion Estuary. 

Many consider the Gran Hotel Domine, a five-star beauty facing the Guggenheim Museum, to be the most impressive hotel in Bilbao. A number of brilliant architects and designers collaborated on the project to produce a truly unique place to stay, if you don’t mind paying handsomely for a room. Another popular area to stay in is the Old Quarter (Casco Viejo). 

Many of its hotels are charming and reasonably priced, while some are bland but economical. Be aware that the Old Quarter can be noisy at night and sometimes the partying can create problems for those with streetside rooms. Room rates vary throughout the city, but during the San Fermin festival in July, expect prices to double or triple.
