Warsaw Weather

Warsaw has a continental climate, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers. The best time to visit is from May to October, when the weather is at its warmest. Most travellers choose not to visit during the winter season, from December to February, when heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures are common.

Seasons

Warsaw's seasons are quite distinct. Springtime (March to May) usually starts cold and windy, later becoming warm and often sunny. The summers (June to August) are predominantly warm, with plenty of sunshine mixed with heavy rains. The hottest month is July, when there may be some odd days when the temperature rises above 30°C. July is also the wettest month, though rain does fall sporadically throughout the rest of the year. Autumn (September to November) can also be a good time to visit, when sunny days are common along with some damp and foggy weather.

Winter chill factor

Warsaw has a reputation for being seriously cold in the winter months (December to February). There can be substantial snowfall and temperatures are often below -15°C in January and February. If you do come to Warsaw during the winter months, make sure you have adequate warm clothing.
